Streaming

The Internet streaming module is designed to broadcast audio signals from the on-air station to the Internet as an encoded stream without a sound card, directly over the network. For this purpose, an "ASIO device" is emulated in the system, which can be selected in the streaming player's settings. This ASIO device receives audio signals from the player, encodes them into the format of the Icecast or Shoutcast server, adds metadata (description of the currently playing track), and transmits it to the preselected IP address of the Icecast or Shoutcast server for further broadcasting on the Internet.

Any number of formats can be encoded in parallel per audio source.

In combination with other Digispot modules, such as the MAG music planning and the task scheduler, which can automate rule-based music rotation and show schedule generation, it is possible to run many different "streaming tracks" at the same to operate almost fully automatically.
